What a gorgeous day it was to photograph this Indianapolis wedding! Allison and Joe's Indianapolis wedding ceremony was at Broadway United Methodist Church. I have now been at this church several times this year photographing Indianapolis weddings:) Their Indianapolis wedding reception was at Allison's uncle’s private residence in Zionsville, Indiana. This has been my third wedding with this family. I love, love this family! Allison and Joe were dream clients. Early on we had a threat of rain, but Randi Neukam with Circle City Planners must have performed the rain dance, because the skies cleared and it was a beautiful night. The reception was catered by ThomasCatering. Sunny Moon was our fabulous DJ for the night. Cambrie Anderson was my amazing second shooter.

I can't wait for wedding number four...who's next?

We were suppose to start the session Saturday, but the weather took a turn for the worse. We ended up doing the session Sunday afternoon instead. It turned out to be a much nicer day...typical Indiana and Illinois weather! If you don't like it today...wait until tomorrow:)

This session was in the early afternoon. As you can see it was very sunny and very hot! They just flew in from California on the redeye and we only had about an hour:) They were such troopers and we were able to get some awesome images!

From a Prom...To a Promise

Jennie and John first met nine years ago while they were on spring break in the Bahamas. During his senior year at Carmel High School, he asked Jennie to be his date for the prom. They had a wonderful time, but did not begin dating at that time...

After college, they began talking again on Facebook and renewed their friendship. Shortly after, they began dating in the fall of 2007...and it was love at first sight. On John's birthday in 2008, John proposed surrounded by family and friends while dining at Fugo De Chao in downtown Indianapolis, IN...

Jennie's silk-faced ivory satin strapless ball gown is styled with a low, dropped waistline and pleated satin bodice. The empire bodice and hip line are accented by bead work featuring Baroque crystal drops. It was designed by Austin Scarlett, creative director for Kenneth Pool.

The deep violet satin bride maid fit and flare gowns by Melissa Sweet feature draped bodice with an asymmetrical sash at the skirt. Their matching violet satin shoes and purses are also accented with crystals. The mini-princesses are wearing candlelight duchess satin dresses with an ivory tulle skirt and shirred violet satin ribbon at the waist designed by Watters Bridal.

John and his groomsmen are wearing black tuxedos by Perry Ellis with amethyst vests and coordinating striped ties and ivory shirts.

Jennie carried an elegant stylized bouquet featuring cascading Phalaenopsis orchids and Vanda orchids from Thailand, combined with hydrangeas and roses in lavender, royal purple and violet with sparkling crystal accents to mirror the crystal bodice of the bridal gown. Her attendants deep violet gowns were complimented by a round cluster bouquet featuring purple Vanda orchids, magenta celosia, Cool Water roses, and lavender hydrangeas. The grooms boutonniere is an elegant purple Vanda orchid accented with sparkling crystals and fresh foliage. Purple dendrobium orchids with a fresh foliage accent adorn the lapel of the groomsmen. Florals were provided by Alan from McNamara.

The wedding cake was created by Classic Cakes in Carmel, IN and its intricate patterned design is accented by phalaenopsis orchids.

The planning for Jennie and John's dream wedding reception began with the help of Scottish Rite event manager Ashley Long. Thomas Caterers of Distinction planned and prepared the appetizers and meal selected by Jennie and John. Hand-made truffles favors were from J Edwards Fine Chocolates of Kokomo. Entertainment was provided by the Endless Summer Band of ESB Entertainment Concepts of Indianapolis. Video of the event was provided by Indy Visual of Fishers. Transportation was provided by Antique Limousines of Indianapolis including the 1953 Rolls Royce Silver Wraith pictured above. Special effects event lighting was provided by Evans Audio Visual of Greenwood. Bridal party make-up was provided by Kiralee of EyeMAX. The entire wedding weekend was coordinated by Darcie Kornmeyer of Circle City Planners.

Meagan & Neil - Mission Possible...

Megan & Neil first met through a mutual friend during a new year's eve party during their sophomore year of high school. Throughout the new year, their friendship grew stronger and led to several secret dates - in an attempt to downplay their growing feelings for one another. Unable to mask their love any longer, Neil asked Megan's father if he could date her. On December 3rd during their senior year, they went on their first official date.

A year later on their anniversary date Neil took Megan on an seemingly innocent tour of all their "first" locations including: where they first kissed, where they had their first romantic talk, where they first danced, and where they went on their first date. Neil brought along a photo album inscribed with the reason each location was special to the two of them (Ahhh!). Of course Neil had one last secret location to take Megan to...Butler's Holcomb's Garden.

As they walked through the trails with Neil leading Megan in her cute new heels (not happy by the way!) they stepped into the clearing where in the distance a candle lit gazebo appeared. As they approached, Megan observed a silhouette figure soon recognized as one of their best friends lighting the last candle and running from the scene yelling "GOOD LUCK NEIL!"

Neil turned toward Megan, pulled a notecard from his pocket, got down on one knee, and delivered a heartfelt proposal that melted Megan's heart. And, as if that wasn't enough, Neil concluded the evening with dinner at their first restaurant, at the same table, and the same meal...but now engaged.

Megan & Neil were married at First Baptist Church with the reception at Union Station's Grand Hall in Indianapolis, Indiana. Florals were provided by Kathy's Kloset, entertainment by Brian Whitis, transportation by Classic Touch Limos, and bridal party make-up by Kiralee of EyeMAX.
